Providence police are investigating a stabbing in the city that occurred on Sunday night.

About Incident

According to police, they were called to Pennsylvania Avenue in South Providence shortly after 7:30 PM.

The encountered a male victim, age 30, with multiple stab wounds to his torso and forearms.

Witnesses told police a man potentially known to the victim drove up to where the victim was standing outside a house.

The two men they began fighting, and the victim was stabbed.

He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with critical injuries.

Police are currently investigating.
