Providence Police Investigating Shooting, One Man Taken to Hospital

Providence Police are investigating a shooting that took place late Thursday night that sent one man to the hospital. 

About Shooting

Shortly after 10:30 PM on Thursday, police were dispatched to the area of 20 June St for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police observed a subject later laying on the ground next to a minivan. 

After further investigation, it was observed the man had suffered a gunshot wound on the rear of his left shoulder. He was then transported to Rhode Island Hospital for medical attention. 

Police then canvassed the parking lot of 20 June Street and observed one spent 9mm casing in proximity of where the minivan was parked. 

A witness spoke with police, who then turned the investigation over to detectives.

The minivan was towed from the scene to Central Station by Coastal towing.
