RI Board of Elections Fines State Rep. Perez $6,000 for Violations

The Rhode Island Board of Elections (BOE) voted unanimously to accept the investigative Audit Report and corresponding Consent Order after a review into Rhode Island State Representative Ramon A. Perez's use of campaign funds.

Perez was fined $6,000 for campaign finance violations and ordered to reimburse his campaign bank account $1,072.49 for the personal use of campaign funds.

He represents District 13 in Providence.

The announcement by the BOE comes a week after the body said it found that two State Senators violated campaign finance law, and a candidate had been referred to the Attorney General.
