Rhode Island Only East Coast State in “Severe Outbreak” Category for Coronavirus

Rhode Island is now in a “severe outbreak” according to Covid ActNow, the research developed by experts from Georgetown University, Stamford University, and the Harvard Global Health Institute.

RI is the only state on the East Coast that has reached the” severe outbreak” level. And, is far outpacing the rest of New England for number of new coronavirus cases.

“Over the last week, Rhode Island has averaged 915 new confirmed cases per day (86.4 for every 100,000 residents). Over the next year, this translates to around 330,000 cases and an estimated 1,700,000 infections (100.0% of the population),” experts from Georgetown University, Stamford University, and the Harvard Global Health Institute.
