RIDOH Data through 11/7 show many communities at 2x alert level of infectionNearly half of Rhode Island’s cities and towns are recording coronavirus cases twice the state’s risk level of 100 cases per 100,000 residents.
One town has seen the number of cases triple in just two weeks — Warren’s cases have jumped from 114 cases per 100,000 residents to 372 cases.
Neighboring Bristol has seen its cases increase from 103 cases per 100,000 to 297 over the same period.
The town with the biggest percentage increase in Jamestown which reported zero cases as of October 24 and by November 7 saw 218 cases per 100,00.
Biggest Surprise
The data unveils that while Central Falls continues to have the highest level of cases proportionately — Johnston has jumped to second in the state with 465 cases per 100,000.
Overall Rhode Island has seen a dramatic increase in infection and recorded two days this week with over 900 cases in a day. The state continues to have the 6th highest per capita death rate in the United States.
