RI State Police Graduate 50 Recruits from 20 Agencies

The Rhode Island State Police Municipal Training Academy is celebrating the graduation of 51 recruits from 20 law enforcement agencies throughout the state.

The graduation marks the end of a 22-week training program that started in July, with a curriculum that includes the Rhode Island General Laws and Motor Vehicle Code, as well as training in specific areas of police work from operating emergency vehicles to dealing with active shooter situations.

Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony was held at the Community College of Rhode Island Flanagan Campus in Lincoln.

Colonel Assumpico, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin and Jamestown Police Chief Edward Mello, chairman of the Rhode Island Police Officers Commission on Standards and Training (POST), each addressed the graduates.
