RI’s COVID-Related Hospitalizations Jump By 20, Testing Inconsistent
Number of RI hospitalized is going back up PHOTO: US Army The number of Rhode Islanders hospitalized has jumped up again and has risen 17% since last week.
The data comes at a time when state leaders were predicting trends would be going in the opposite direction.
Last Thursday, the Rhode Island Department of Health reported 133 people hospitalized and now the number has increased to 153.

Testing, which has been averaging about 18,000 to 20,000 people per day, has dropped again and on Sunday a little more than 5,267 were tested and on Monday only 12,649 — a low number for a workday.
In the past four days, the state has reported more than 1,100 new cases.
According to COVID ActNow, Rhode Island continues to be the second most infected state — trailing only Michigan.
