State Police Arrest Candidates for AG & Governor on Drug Charges & Delinquency of a Minor

Rhode Island State Police arrested a candidate for Attorney General and a gubernatorial candidate for possessing approximately 48 pounds of marijuana and also contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A 15-year-old was in the house at the time of the search warrant.

Gubernatorial candidate Anne Armstrong, 58  was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana in excess of five (5) kilograms, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Attorney General candidate Alan Gordon, 48, was arrested and also charged with possession of marijuana in excess of five (5) kilograms, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The Arrests

On October 4, members of the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and West Greenwich Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant at 99 Hudson Pond Road in West Greenwich. 

This search warrant was the result of a complaint and investigation into the strong odor of marijuana emanating from marijuana plants being illegally grown outdoors on the property of 99 Hudson Pond Road.

As a result, members of the HIDTA Task Force seized approximately 48 pounds of marijuana.
