More Gun Violence in Providence - Two Men Shot Multiple Times, Following Fourth Murder of Year

Providence Police are reporting that two men were shot in the city on Thursday night. 

Earlier this week, a drive-by shooting occurred at the location of the city's fourth homicide of the year the day before.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday, units responded to 205 Salina Street for a report of shots fired — which was updated to a shooting — shortly after being dispatched. 

Upon arrival officers located two victims in their twenties, one who sustained gunshot wounds to the shoulder and hand, the other reportedly had eight to ten gunshot wounds to the torso. 

Both were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, with at least one of the victims undergoing operation. 

At the scene, police recovered roughly 25 9mm shell casings.

A nearby vehicle sustained at a similar number of ballistic strikes, according to police.
