Brown Suffers 4th Straight Loss, Edged by Cornell 73-68

Brown got 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench from Obi Okolie, but it wasn’t enough as the Bears fell 73-68 to Cornell on Saturday night in New York for their fourth straight loss.

The loss drops Brown to 11-14 overall and 4-8 in the Ivy League. They are now in 7th place in the Ivy League. 

Cornell improves to 11-14 overall and 5-7 in conference.

Brown Can’t Hold on

Following a three-point play by freshman Tamenang Choh, the Bears led Cornell 50-47 with 11:56 to play.

From that point, Cornell would go on a 13-0 run capped off by a layup from Joel Davis to take a 60-50 lead with 8:13 to play.

The Bears would then go on a 14-3 run to take a 64-63 lead after a layup from Chris Sullivan with 3:24 to play in the game.

The two teams would trade one-point leads over the next minute before Cornell would take a 69-66 lead with 1:18 left to play after a layup by Steven Julian.

The Bears would not make a field goal the rest of the game as Cornell would seal the game at the free throw line.

The Bears return to action on Friday, March 2 when they host Princeton.

Game time is set for 7 p.m.
