Coventry Completes Epic Comeback

New Hampshire would hold a commanding 5-0 lead going into the sixth and final inning, before Coventry would rally.

Coventry’s Logan Lama got things started with a two-run triple to cut New Hampshire’s lead to 5-2 with no outs in the inning.

Lama would then score on a line drive single by Kody Fretts to pull Coventry within two, 5-3.

Coventry would load the bases and New Hampshire pitcher Cam Hujsak would then walk in a run to give Coventry their fourth run of the inning and make the score 5-4.

With the bases still loaded, Tommy Turner hit a ground ball single to center field to score S Fuentes and D Mourao to give Coventry the 6-5 walk-off win.

Coventry’s Run

Coventry entered the game with a record of 2-1 after losing to Pittsfield, Massachusetts 10-1 on Wednesday.

Prior to that game, Coventry beat both Connecticut and Vermont 10-0.

Throughout their run, they were led by Tommy Turner, who had four hits in those two games, along with three RBIs, while Jake Mather also had four hits and three RBIs.

Against Connecticut, Turner pitched four innings of no-hit ball, while Logan Lama and Mather combined to hold Vermont to just three hits over five innings.
