The Patriots will raise their 2016-17 Super Bowl Championship banner on Thursday, September 7 when they host the Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to attend.

The Patriots will then hit the road for one game to face the New Orleans Saints  in week two, before coming home for two straight games. The Patriots will host the Houston Texans in week three and then host Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in week four.

Week five will see the Patriots visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football and then visit the New York Jets in week six. The game against the Jets will be the first AFC East game of the season.

A Super Bowl rematch is set for week seven when the Patriots host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. The Patriots beat the Falcons 34-28 in the Super Bowl last season after trailing 28-3 in the third quarter.

New England will then host the Los Angeles Chargers in week eight before taking their bye week during week nine.

Schedule Gets Tougher

Following the bye week, the schedule gets tougher for the Patriots as they play five road games in a six week span.

For the third straight season, the Patriots will travel to Denver to face the Broncos on Sunday Night Football. Last season the Patriots won in Denver for the first time since 2011.

Following the game against Denver, the Patriots will travel to Mexico City to face the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, November 19. That game is set for 4:25 p.m.

New England will be home to face the Miami Dolphins in week 12 before heading right back on the road to face the Buffalo Bills on December 3.

The Patriots only Monday Night Football game of the year will come on December 11 when they visit the Miami Dolphins.

The final road game of the regular season is highlighted by a trip to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. The Patriots beat the Steelers twice last season, the last time coming in the AFC Championship.

New England closes the regular season with two home games. They will host the Buffalo Bills on Christmas Eve and host the New York Jets in week 16 on New Year’s Eve.

Summary

Overall,  the Patriots are set to play in five nationally-televised games during the regular season, including two at home.

They will play two Thursday night games, one Monday night game and two Sunday night games. At the moment, the Patriots only have two 4:25 p.m. games, but that could change with the flex scheduling.
