Red Sox Hit Six Home Runs En Route to 13-7 Win Over White Sox

Devin Marrero hit two home runs in Red Sox win
Devin Marrero hit a two-run home run and a three-run home run to help the Boston Red Sox slug their way past the Chicago White Sox 13-7 on Tuesday night in Chicago. 

Marrero only had two home runs in his first 59 major league games. 

As a team, Boston hit a season-high six home runs in the game while picking up 16 hits.

Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale made his first start in Chicago since being traded to Boston and picked up his sixth win of the season. 

He went five innings, gave up 10 hits and six runs while striking out nine. 

Boston improves to 28-23 on the season and snaps a two-game losing streak. 

Red Sox Take Control in 5th 

After leading 7-4, the Red Sox saw their lead cut to one in the fourth inning when Chicago's Todd Frazier hit a two-run home run to left field off of Sale.

The Red Sox would take control of the game again in the fifth when Jackie Bradley Jr., hit a three-run home runs off Chicago’s Dan Jennings to push the Red Sox lead to 10-6. 

Xander Bogaerts would add a solo home run in the 8th inning and the Red Sox would add two more runs in the ninth to seal the win.

The Red Sox and White Sox wrap up their series on Wednesday, May 31 at 8:10 p.m. 

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Drew Pomeranz against Chicago’s Mike Pelfrey.
