Bradley Jr., Betts Hit Home Runs in Red Sox 6-3 Win Over St. Louis

Bradley Jr. hits a home run to help Boston beat St. Louis
The Boston Red Sox got home runs from Mookie Betts and Jackie Bradley Jr. en route to a 6-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night in St. Louis. 

The Red Sox improve to 20-18 on the season.

Trailing 3-2 in the top of the 5th, the Red Sox would score two runs to grab the lead. 

Bradley scored on an RBI groundout by Betts to tie the game at 3.

Deven Marrero reached on an error by the Cardinals’ Jedd Gyorko, and then scored on Dustin Pedroia single to center. That run gave the Red Sox a 4-3 lead. 

The Red Sox would add two more runs in the 8th inning, the first coming on a Christian Vazquez sac fly and then on an error by St. Louis’ Tommy Pham. 

Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel picked up his 12th save of the season in the 9th. 

Series Concludes

The Red Sox and Cardinals conclude their two-game series on Wednesday night with first pitch at 8:15 p.m. 

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Rick Porcello against St. Louis’ Mike Leake.
