4-Run 1st Inning Leads Red Sox to 6-2 Win Over Baltimore

The Boston Red Sox salvaged the third game of their three game series with the Baltimore Orioles with a 6-2 win at Camden Yards on Sunday. 

The Red Sox improve to 11-8 on the season.

Boston took complete control of the game in the first inning when Hanley Ramirez, Mookie Betts and Mitch Moreland all homered in the first inning off of Baltimore’s Kevin Gausman.

Gausman gave up four runs on his first seven pitches of the game.

Boston would add one run in the fifth and another in the sixth to take a 6-0 lead before the Orioles got on the board in the eighth. 

Eduardo Rodriguez picked up the win for the Red Sox, giving up one hit in six innings with seven strikeouts.

Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel picked up his seventh save of the season. 

Next up 

Boston will have a day off on Monday, April 24 before hosting the New York Yankees in a series that begins on Tuesday.

First pitch for Tuesday's game is set for 7 p.m.
