Red Sox Drop 2nd Straight Game, Fall 4-2 to Baltimore

Wright gives up 4 runs in the fourth as Red Sox Lose
Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright gave up four runs and 9 hits in just 3 2/3 innings pitched and the Red Sox fell 4-2 to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night in Baltimore. 

Wright, now 1-2 on the season, got only four outs and gave up eight runs in his last outing against the Orioles at Fenway Park. 

Wright has given up seven home runs and 17 earned runs in just under 18 innings so far this season.

The Red Sox fall to 10-8 on the season and have lost two straight games. 

Boston was without second baseman Dustin Pedroia in the game. Pedroia left Friday's game after being spiked in the back of the knee by Baltimore's Manny Machado. 

Orioles Get to Wright in 4th 

After Jackie Bradley Jr. put the Red Sox up 2-0 in the third, the Orioles rallied for four runs in the fourth. 

Baltimore’s Chris Davis hit a double, Trey Mancini and Jonathan Schoop hit home runs and Adam Jones recorded an RBI single to chase Wright from the game. 

Prior to this inning, Wright had given up three hits in three innings. 

Boston would not score a run the rest of the way, finishing with only six hits in the game. 

Series Wraps up 

The Red Sox and Orioles wrap up the series on Sunday, April 23 with first pitch set for 1:35 p.m. 

The pitching matchup will see Boston’s Eduardo Rodriguez against Baltimore’s Kevin Gausman.
