Red Sox Drop 2nd Straight Game, Fall 4-1 to Detroit

The Boston Red Sox dropped their second straight game on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-1 tot he Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit.

The Red Sox fall to 2-2 on the season.

With the Red Sox leading 1-0, former Red Sox Jose Iglesias hit a game tying home run to left field to tie the game. 

The Tigers would take the lead for good in the fifth inning when James McCann hit a home run to give Detroit a 2-1 lead in the game. 

Detroit would add two more runs in the inning to take a commanding 4-1 lead. 

Detroit’s pitching would shut the Red Sox down the rest of the way as Detroit would go on to take game two of the series.

The third game of the four game series will be played on Sunday, April 9 at 1:10 p.m. 

The Red Sox will have AL Cy Young winner Rick Porcello on the mound while the Tigers will have Daniel Norris.
