Leon's Walk Off 3-Run Home Run Gives Red Sox 3-0 Win in 12th Inning

The Boston Red Sox got a walk off three-run home run from Sandy Leon in the top of the 12th inning to lift the Red Sox over the Pirates 3-0 on Wednesday night at Fenway Park. 

Earlier in the night, Leon made a base running error in the third inning that cost the Red Sox a run. 

Boston is now 2-0 on the season.

Chris Sale Shines 

In his Red Sox debut, Chris Sale did not give up a run while striking out seven batters in seven innings pitched. 

The Red Sox acquired sale in the offseason for top prospect Yoan Moncada and a package of other prospects. 

Next up 

The Red Sox will go for the sweep of the Pirates on Thursday afternoon when Eduardo Rodriguez will take the mound for Boston against Pittsburgh Chad Kuhl. 

First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
