Ramirez's Double Sparks Red Sox to 4-3 Win Over Pittsburgh

Hanley Ramirez hit a two run double to spark the Red Sox to a win
Hanley Ramirez hit a two-run double and Xander Bogaerts hit a go-ahead RBI single in the 8th lifting the Red Sox over the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 at Fenway Park. 

This game was a make up game for a rain out during the opening week of the season. The Red Sox sweep the series against Pittsburgh. 

Red Sox move to 5-4 on the season.

Red Sox Rally in 8th 

Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the 8th inning, Ramirez hit a two-run double with the bases loaded off Pittsburgh’s Juan Nicosia to tie the game at 3. 

In the very next at-bat, Bogaerts hit a single to right to drive in the winning run. 

Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel picked up his third save of the season in the 9th inning. 

Next up for Red Sox 

The Red Sox return to action on Friday, April 14 when they open up a four-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays. 

Boston will have reigning Cy Young award winner Rick Porcello on the mound, while the Rays will have Chris Archer on the mound. 

First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.
