Revs Earn 1st Win of Season, Beat Minnesota 5-2

The New England Revolution earned their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, beating Minnesota United 5-2 at Gillette Stadium. 

The Revs are now 1-2-0 on the season while Minnesota drops to 0-3-1.

After Minnesota’s Collen Warner tied the game at 1 in the 15th minute, New England’s Kei Kamara gave the Revolution the lead for good off a pass from Lee Nguyen. 

Ten minutes later, Nguyen would score a goal of his own on a penalty kick  to give the Revs a 3-1 lead. Nguyen’s goal tied Steve Ralston for second the Revolution’s career goals list with 42. 

Juan Agudelo added his second goal of the game to put the Revolution up 4-1 at the half. 

Chris Tierney would add a goal in the 53rd minute and seal the Revolutions’ 5-2 win.
