URI Basketball Gets Verbal Commit From Cyril Langevine

The University of Rhode Island Rams men's basketball team have received a verbal commitment from 6'8" forward Cyril Langevine from East Orange, New Jersey. Langevine will join URI in 2016 and is head coach Dan Hurley's third 2016 commit in 11 days. 

According to verbalcommits.com, Langevine is a two star recruit and has not yet been ranked by ESPN. 

"I would like to thank the universities, and more specifically, the coaches who recruited me. I have decided to attend the University of Rhode Island. I look forward to a good education and a successful basketball career at Rhode Island.  Additionally, I would like to thank The Patrick School community, specifically my teammates and the coaching staff, the Playaz Basketball Club, and the N.J. Roadrunners for helping me to attain my goal of securing a Division 1 scholarship. Above all, I want to thank Almighty God and my parents for always being there for me," Langevine said in a statement.

Langevine averaged 7.6 points per game last season for The Patrick School Celtics. 

Langevine was also recruited by A-10 rivals Duquesne, George Mason and St. Bonaventure as well as 2014 NCAA Tournament teams Robert Morris and Buffalo. 

With the recent signings, URI has one scholarship available for the the 2015-16 season, one for 2016-17 and four scholarships available for 2017-18. 

URI Rams 

The Rams are getting set to start the 2015-16 season which opens up on Friday, November 13th against American at the Ryan Center. 

Rhode Island went 23-10 last season and advanced to the second round of the NIT Tournament before losing to eventual NIT Champion Stanford. This season, URI returns four starters including E.C. Matthews and Hassan Martin.
