URI Basketball Playing 3 Games in 3 Days - It Starts Monday Morning

The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team is traveling to Kissimmee, FL, to play in the Terry’s Chocolate ESPN Events International at Walt Disney World Resort.

The Rams will play three games on three consecutive days. The opening-round game is Monday, November 24th, against Towson University. Tip-off is 11:00 am.

This is a critical stretch for the Rams to build their resume.

There are 16 teams in the Tournament, which is divided into three brackets. Competitors will only play teams in their bracket.  A champion will be crowned for each bracket.

One bracket is significantly better than the others — the Rams are not in that one.

The Rams' opponents and the game times for Tuesday and Wednesday will be determined by game outcomes as teams advance through their bracket.

Three wins and a bracket championship would do wonders for the Rams' confidence.

Towson’s Rhode Island Links

The winner of the URI-Towson game will play in the winner’s bracket semifinal on Tuesday, Nov. 25th at 12:00 pm.

Last season, Towson went 22-11, and they are led by head coach Pat Skerry, who spent three seasons as an assistant coach at URI. Former Ram point guard Parfait Bitee is an associate head coach for the Towson Tigers.

Going into the game, URI is ranked #102 on KenPom, and Towson is ranked #136.

Brackets

The Rams are in the “Adventure Bracket,” which includes Bradley, Liberty, Princeton, Temple, Towson, UC San Diego, and Vermont.

The other brackets and teams are;

“Magic Bracket” – BYU, Dayton, Georgetown, and Miami

“Imagination Bracket” – Charlotte, Furman, Illinois State, and Richmond.
