The Vermont men's basketball team lost 80-65 to the University of Rhode Island at the State Farm Field House in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida. Myles Corey led the Rams with 22 points, and TJ Long led the Catamounts in scoring with 13 points.

"Another tough game today. Give URI credit, they played really well defensively and got to the free-throw line a lot. Again, we are a young team trying to figure some stuff out and get guys' experience. This is part of a tough stretch in the non-conference, and we will keep working at it and get better,” said Vermont coach John Becker.

URI is now 5-2 on the season.
