GoLocal's John Ghiorse Leads Class of RI Radio and TV Hall of Fame Inductees

GoLocal meteorologist John Ghiorse will be inducted into the Rhode Island Radio and TV Hall of Fame Class of 2020.

Ghiorse is one of the founders of GoLocal that launched in April of 2010. Each day he gives an early morning forecast of the daily weather in Rhode IslandI via The Ghiorse Factor, It can be found on the top of each GoLocal's page.

Ghirose is a graduate of Harvard University and Penn State University.

More About Ghiorse

Ghiorse was among the first television meteorologists in Rhode Island when he joined WJAR in 1968.

He remained at WJAR for 15 years before joining WLNE (ABC 6).

Ghiorse returned to WJAR in 1998 and worked with meteorologists Gary Ley, Mark Searles, Kelly Bates, and R.J. Heim.

Ghiorse retired from television in 2009 and then joined GoLocalProv shortly after.

He can be found in the weather section of GoLocal where he reports on incoming storms.

Other members of the class of 2020 include former WPRI news anchor Karen Adams, WJAR morning host Frank Colletta, 92 Pro FM’s DJ Davey Morris, WPRO’s Mitch Dolan, and the late WJAR investigative reporter Jim Taricani.
