United Way of RI Awards $90K in Grants to Olneyville Community

Olneyville Community Fund
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTThe Olneyville Community Fund was established to support Olneyville residents, community-based organizations, and business owners implement programs that help support a thriving neighborhood. In particular, the fund focuses on supporting the following results:
- Improving access to key services for Olneyville residents;
- Increasing the capacity of organizations to provide key services to local residents;
- Improved awareness and advocacy around key issues impacting Olneyville residents;
- Enhancement of the physical environment of Olneyville’s public spaces; and
- Improved sense of community between Olneyville residents and community partners.
The range of program initiatives to receive funding includes providing access to health screenings and comprehensive primary care for uninsured residents; educational year-round and out-of-school time programming for youth; capital investments to improve public space; outdoor recreational programming for families and youth; adult literacy programs; teen technology skills training, and more.
