This is a way of saying that I don't know what I am doing, and you have a better idea.

You are making a better suggestion, and your idea, or in most cases, opinion, will solve a problem I never really asked for advice on or had in the first place.
You are offering unsolicited advice, and in most cases, nobody wants or needs to hear it.
Don't take this out of context and think that I am a "know it all" because that's the farthest thing from the truth. I am always asking for feedback and seeking advice on getting better on all levels of life.
I am always open to suggestions and looking for ways to solve problems and create solutions, but don't randomly volunteer your unsolicited opinions and spew ideas unless it's asked for. (As a rule, I never offer advice unless asked or hired to give it, as I once did and was told to mind my own fu@king business.)
Now that we got that out of the way, I will give you some factual, not opinion-based, advice on improving in certain areas by telling you what's "required" of you over what you "should be" doing.
It would be best if you worked out. That's my opinion, and I think everyone should incorporate fitness into their lifestyle.
When said like that, you probably don't want to hear it; however, if you are reading my articles, you are likely looking for fitness tips, so that I will do that here.
As opposed to my opinion, I am going to tell you that to get fit and be healthy, it is "required" that you go to the gym and work out. It's a must-do to get in great shape and be fit.
Yes, you can lose weight by walking and cutting calories, but to be fit, you need to build muscle, and hitting the gym and doing strength training is the only way to achieve that result. This is requirement #1
Requirement #2: you must eat good food to see optimal results with your fitness routine.
It is 100% scientifically proven that to operate like a high-performance machine; we need to put high-performance fuel into our bodies. This means eating whole foods loaded with vitamins and minerals and avoiding all processed foods that cause inflammation.
Back to building muscle, and being more specific, it is required that we get adequate protein into our bodies to build and repair damaged muscle tissue. Regardless of what type of eating plan you are on, Keto, Vegan, Paleo, etc., it is essential and required that we eat protein to build lean muscle mass.
Consistency is requirement #3. You must hit the gym and eat clean, but you must do this consistently to achieve results and maintain all your hard work.
In all my 30 years in this industry, I have seen many people get in great physical shape; however, 100% of those that weren't consistent lost it all and regressed. I have never seen someone achieve their goal, stop working out and eating clean, and maintain their progress.
When you reach the pinnacle, you must keep going if you want to maintain all your hard work. It's a requirement, not an opinion, and to stay in great shape and be healthy, it's nonnegotiable that we stick to our routine.
I got the idea for this article from a business podcast I was listening to, and much of what was said resonated with me on a business level. It was noted that to run a successful business, we need to do what is required instead of just doing what we feel like or think we "should be" doing.
It's required of me to be consistent with my marketing process. Like working out, I can't just send emails here and there, and I can't let up on running ads, otherwise, leads stop coming in, and we can't grow.
I also need to implement the best system and program for getting people results. We are constantly staying on the cutting edge and improving our systems to help more people improve their lives. It is required of us to make sure we are consistently coaching our members toward success.
Building a great team requires me to constantly invest, pour into them, and provide the tools necessary for growth. I can only sit back and expect them to improve if I invest time, money, and energy into their development.
It's black and white with no grey matter.
Some people consider me to be rigid. However, some things are essential and can't be negotiated. To be successful and achieve the desired outcome, we all need to step back and make assessments and adjustments to what we are currently doing.
In most cases, doing things we feel like doing won't cut it. Sometimes we need to dig down deeper and face the facts, and realize that there is no easy way to accomplish the goals and standards we set for ourselves.
Next time you struggle with something, put all feelings aside, don't ask for people's opinions, and take a long look at yourself in the mirror.
Then ask yourself, "Am I doing what's required of me to achieve my goal?"
Be honest with yourself; if the answer is no, assess the situation, and create a plan to perform the requirements to take yourself to the next level. That's not a "should do" but a "must do."
