Cranston Police are continuing to investigate a threat that took place at Park View Middle School on Thursday.

The comment was made inside one of the rooms of the building and overheard by other students, who distributed the message.

According to Winquist, police made contact with the student and his parents.

“We don’t believe the threat was credible, he has no access to weapons,” Winquist told GoLocal on Friday.

Police are continuing to review the incident for possible referral to the juvenile hearing board.

Winquist says the school is aware of the situation and parents were notified of the incident through email.

According to Winquist, Cranston police were at the school on Friday morning as a precaution.
