New reports cite that Brown University Professor Rasha Alawieh, who was recently deported by the Trump administration, attended the funeral of a Hezbollah leader and a reported terrorist.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Monday in a social media post:

“Last month, Rasha Alawieh traveled to Beirut, Lebanon, to attend the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah — a brutal terrorist who led Hezbollah, responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade terror spree. Alawieh openly admitted to this to CBP officers, as well as her support of Nasrallah.

A visa is a privilege not a right—glorifying and supporting terrorists who kill Americans is grounds for visa issuance to be denied. This is commonsense security.”

The New York Times reports, "When questioned by Customs and Border Protection officers upon her return to the United States, Dr. Rasha Alawieh, who is Lebanese, 'openly admitted' her support for the leader, Hassan Nasrallah, according to a Homeland Security spokeswoman.

Dr. Alawieh was detained at Boston Logan International Airport on Thursday.”
