Father & Son Arrested on Narcotics Charges by RI State Police

RI State Police arrested father and son on narcotics charges.
A father and son were arrested by the Rhode Island State Police on multiple narcotics charges.

John Ferreira, 61, of Warwick, and Tyler Ferreira, 24 were charged with the following:

  • Possession with intent to deliver a schedule II controlled substance – fentanyl
  • Possession with intent to deliver a schedule II controlled substance – cocaine
  • Possession with intent to deliver a schedule I controlled substance – marijuana
  • Possession with intent to deliver a schedule IV controlled substance – xanax
  • Possession of a schedule III controlled substance – anabolic steroids
  • Manufacturing / possession / distribution of an imitation controlled substance
  • Possession of a pill pressing machine
  • Controlled substance conspiracy

John Ferreira was given a future court date of March 18, 2020.

Tyler Ferreira was given a future court date of March 23, 2020.

The Arrest

According to State Police, on December 18, 2019, as a result of a court-authorized search warrant, members of the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (HIDTA) arrested John Ferreira.

On December 23, 2019, Tyler Ferreira was also arrested as a result of this search warrant.

During the search, members of the HIDTA Task Force seized a large scale electric powered pill pressing machine, numerous blue pills containing fentanyl, narcotics cutting agents, packaging material, over 100 marijuana plants, Xanax pills, equipoise anabolic steroids, powdered cocaine, and $10,000 in U.S. currency.
