RI Man Wanted in New York for Murder Arrested by RI State Police

Pawtucket man wanted in New York for murder arrested by RI State Police
The Rhode Island State Police and the U.S. Marshals have arrested a Pawtucket man that was wanted in connection with a shooting and double homicide in New York City.

Victor Cedres, 34, of Pawtucket was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Cedres was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned at Sixth Division District Court as a Fugitive from Justice.

Cedres waived extradition and was taken into custody by the New York City Police for transport back to New York.

The Arrest

According to State Police, on Wednesday, October 24, the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force conducted a search warrant at 320 Mineral Spring Avenue, apartment #8 in Pawtucket for Cedres. 

Cedres was wanted in connection with a double homicide that occurred on August 20, 2019, in Brooklyn, New York. As a result of the search warrant, Cedres was located and taken into custody without incident.

During the search, a small amount of suspected heroin was located which Cedres was allegedly in possession of.
