Juvenile Shot and in Critical Condition — Providence Police Investigating

Providence police are investigating a shooting of a juvenile overnight. 

According to police, the male victim is in critical condition following surgery.

Shortly after 1:30 AM Monday morning, police responded to Providence Street for a report of shots fired.

Police said they found multiple shell casings at the intersection of Providence Street. 

Witnesses told police they saw an SUV in pursuit of a sedan; police located the sedan at Rhode Island Hospital near the emergency room. 

According to police, there were numerous bullet holes in the vehicle’s exterior. 

Police located the victim at the hospital, who had been shot several times. 

The sedan was towed and detectives are currently investigating.
