Women Injured in Drive-By BB Gun Shooting in Providence

A woman was shot in the face with what police believe was a BB gun in Providence on Saturday. 

About Incident 

Shortly before 7 PM on Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block on Westminster Street in the city's West End for a report of a woman being shot with a projectile from a BB gun.

Police said they met with the victim — and her boyfriend — who said they had just left a restaurant on Westminster when a vehicle drove by them and they heard several loud pops.

The woman said she immediately felt pain next to her eye. 

Police said they observed a bump directly next to the victim’s eye; she was treated on the scene and released. 

Detectives are currently investigating.
