Juvenile in Critical Condition After Being Shot in Providence — Police Investigating

According to police, the thirteen-year-old boy is in critical condition.

Upon arrival, police reported that a juvenile male was in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his stomach.
The victim told police he had been walking with two friends on Geneva Street — in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood of the city — when he said he heard a pop and then felt pain in his abdomen.
Police, upon investigation, said they spoke with a witness in the area who confirmed they had heard a gunshot at the time of the incident.
The victim was transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
Detectives are currently investigating.
