About Incident

Police were called to Kennedy Plaza shortly after 7:30 PM on Wednesday for a report of an assault.

According to police, the victim — a male in his 40s — said he had been waiting at a bus stop when the suspect, described as a "black male wearing a black hoodie" came up to him and demanded his belongings.

When the victim refused, the suspect took out a box cutter and stabbed the victim in multiple locations.

The victim was taken by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

Detectives are currently investigating.
