Man With Knife Climbs Through Wendy’s Drive-Through Window in Providence, Assaults Employee

A man brandishing a knife reportedly jumped through a drive-through window at a Wendy’s in Providence to assault a worker early Sunday morning. 

About Incident 

Police were called to the Wendy’s on Eddy Street shortly after 4 AM on Sunday for a report of an assault.

An employee told officers that a short time earlier, a vehicle approached the drive-through window and was told the location was closed.

The male in the vehicle reportedly became enraged and involved in a verbal altercation with another worker, before climbing through the drive-through window - with a knife.

Witnesses say the male suspect then reportedly held a knife up against an employee before fleeing the scene. 

Police say they are searching for the suspect and the vehicle.
