BREAKING: 3 Men Arrested & Charged in Shooting Death of 19-Year-Old Woman Leaving Prov Nightclub

3 men arrested & charged in shooting death of 19-year-old woman leaving Providence nightclub
Providence police have arrested three suspects in the shooting death of a woman leaving a Detroit Avenue nightclub in Providence last September.

Berta Pereira-Roldan, of Revere, Massachusetts, was fatally shot September 29, 2019, after she had just left a nightclub where she was celebrating her 19th birthday with friends.

On Friday, Jimmy Castillo of Pawtucket, Marklyn Brown of Cranston, and Johnny Veng -- who has been at the ACI -- were each charged with 16 felony counts in Providence District Court, Major David Lapatin told GoLocalProv.com.

The counts include murder, conspiracy to commit murder,  and discharge of a firearm at both the victims -- and intended targets.

A second woman, 38-year-old Crystal Peloquin, of North Providence, was shot, but survived.

Police said the women were innocent bystanders and that two men in the area who were talking with Peloquin were believed to be the targets.
