Last week the PawSox announced that they would begin to negotiate with other cities.

The PawSox owners issued the following statement:

For more than a year, the Pawtucket Red Sox have worked cooperatively and exclusively with the City of Pawtucket and the State of Rhode Island to find a long-term solution to keep the PawSox in Pawtucket.  The club promised such exclusivity through the state's regular legislative session ending in June.  This understanding was clear and made public on numerous occasions.

While the dialogue with Pawtucket and Rhode Island officials will continue through a fall session, if called, the club will now also respond to other cities who seek to present proposals for potential ballpark sites.  Given the uncertainty we face upon the expiration of our lease, and the timetables involved with these sorts of projects, we believe it is prudent and fair to follow this course of action.

The league began its first year of operations in 2011. "The founders of the league are the FCBL ownership groups from both the Brockton Rox (Can-Am League) and the Lowell Spinners (Single A affiliate Boston Red Sox). The first year the league included teams playing in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut," according to the league. About 100 players have been drafted to the majors.

One of the league's teams are the Worcester Bravehearts "for the second consecutive year, the team was the leader in attendance, as 54,789 fans took in games in the 2017 season -- an average of 2,107 fans per game — an increase from 1,749 fans in 2014 reported the team.

Hall began his professional baseball front office career in the Can-Am League for the Nashua Pride franchise in 2006.  He held the position of Vice President of Baseball Operations from 2006-07 and V.P. of Baseball Operations and General Manager in 2008.  He is a graduate of Brandeis University where he was a three-year Varsity catcher and a two time All-UAA Selection.
