North Providence Police Arrest Man for Possession of Firearms Without License or Permit

North Providence police announced that a man was arrested in the city on Wednesday for possession of firearms without a license or permit. 

According to police, on October 8, a patrolman conducted a motor vehicle stop on Mineral Spring Avenue after observing the operator not wearing a seat belt. 

Police said that contact was made with the operator, Kyle Mumford age 25, a Woonsocket resident.

During the vehicle inventory search, police said officers located two firearms. Police said that Mumford was driving with a suspended license. 

"A Colt 45mm fully loaded 10-round magazine containing hollow point ammunition hiding underneath the front driver seat floorboard," said police. "Also recovered was a Taurus revolver fully loaded with 6 rounds of .38 special ammunition underneath the passenger seat."
