North Providence Police Arrest Man in Possession of Gun With Obliterated Serial Number

On Sunday, a North Providence Police patrolman conducted a motor vehicle stop on Mineral Spring Avenue after observing the vehicle to be speeding.

When police pulled over the operator, Trevon Plante, age 21, a Woonsocket resident, it was also learned that Plante was driving with a suspended driver’s license.

During the vehicle inventory search, officers located a loaded Glock 20, 10mm handgun, which was located in the back passenger's seat.

 

It was later determined that the serial number had been completely obliterated from the weapon.

 

The North Providence Detective Division is attempting to identify the handgun.
