Suspect Arrested in Recent Breaking-and-Enterings in Cranston
According to police, Madden was wanted for a December 8, 2025 breaking and entering on Wentworth Avenue.
Detectives believe he may also be responsible for multiple additional break-ins and attempted break-ins that occurred throughout Edgewood between September and December 2025.

Suspect Apprehended
Police say Madden was taken into custody on January 12, 2026, without incident, on an active Cranston PD arrest warrant.
Madden has been charged with Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Dwelling House (RIGL § 11-8-2) and is being held pending arraignment. Police say additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
Police are asking anyone who may have experienced a similar incident, observed suspicious activity, or have home surveillance or doorbell camera footage from the Edgewood area during this timeframe to contact the Cranston Police Detective Division.
