Rojas was arrested at approximately 1:20 p.m. yesterday after troopers spotted a car traveling at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Austin Farm Road in Exeter.
Rojas was identified as the driver and she was cited for speeding and for operating a motor vehicle without a license.
As a result of their investigation, troopers found a bag in her car containing several Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Coach handbags and wallets, as well as several dozen boxes of Swarovski jewelry, that had been reported stolen from several stores in the Clinton Crossing Outlets in Clinton, CT. The total value of the stolen property was $3,043.
At the time of her arrest, Rojas told troopers she was on her way to court in connection with her case from last year's arrest.
Previous Arrest
That arrest that occurred on May 19, 2018, after troopers stopped a vehicle heading south on Interstate 95 in Richmond for violating the state's move-over law. During a search of her car, troopers found more than $20,000 worth of designer clothing, jewelry, perfume and cosmetics that had been reported stolen from several stores in Massachusetts.
Rojas and a passenger in her car, Angela Maria Perez, then age 32, also of Corona, NY, were arrested at that time and charged with receiving stolen goods with a value exceeding $20,000 and conspiracy.
On April 15, 2019, Rojas and Perez each pleaded no contest to the charge of receiving stolen goods and were sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation in connection with last year's arrest.
The conspiracy charges were dismissed.
