Providence Police Investigating Latest Stabbing in City
Providence Police are investigating a stabbing that took place in the city on Monday.
The assault was the fifth knife-attack since Friday, with four stabbings -- as a well as a shooting homicide and five people being shot -- taking place over the weekend
Shortly before 2 AM Monday, police responded to Dartmouth Avene for a report of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, police observed a male subject laying on the floor with two stab wounds to his right arm.
According to police, the victim was uncooperative and did not want to give his account of the occurrence. He told police that he did not have a complaint and did not want to pursue charges.
A witness at the scene told police that the person who had stabbed the victim was a "tall, Black male, wearing a gray hoodie, black 'do-rag' and white Jordan sneakers."
The victim was transported to Rhode Island hospital by rescue and was being treated with non-life threatening stab wounds.
Police are investigating.
