Stabbing Reported on Federal Hill Overnight, Providence Police Investigating - UPDATED

Shortly before 2 AM Saturday morning, police were dispatched to the area of 303 Atwells Avenue for a report of a stabbing, as well as several more calls for a possible disturbance.

Forty-five minutes later, police responded to Rhode Island Hospital for an unrelated incident. While on the scene, police said they observed a male subject stumbling by the entrance of 2 Dudley Street attempting to get the attention of units there.
Upon speaking with the male, police report that he told them that as he was leaving Opa Restaurant, located at 230 Atwells Avenue, an unidentified male subject stabbed him multiple times.
According to police, the male was very disoriented and unable to provide a description of the suspect but stated that the attack took place outside of the establishment.
A follow-up investigation by Providence Police found that the stabbing actually took place by the nightclub Pure, with the victim ultimately ending up outside Opa.
Police observed three separate lacerations to the victim’s torso, as well as his shirt to be ripped and soaked in blood.
