About Shots Fired

Shortly after 9:30 PM Friday night, police responded to Cypress Street by Billy Taylor Park for reports of shots fired.

Police found more than a dozen spent shell casings on the pedestrian footbridge.

Shortly after investigating that scene, police then received reports for possible shots fired into the Providence Fire Station at the intersection of North Main Street and Branch Avenue.

Upon arrival, police observed damage to the front fire door as well as the window, and observed two bullet fragments inside of the station.

Police are currently investigating.
