Shots Fired During Daytime on Providence's East Side, Police Investigating
Providence police are investigating reports of shots fired on the East Side during the daytime on Saturday.
Former State Senator Gayle Goldin -- who lives on College Hill by Hope High School -- posted about the incident on Twitter.
"There was just a shooting directly outside my house. Middle of a Saturday. Multiple shots fired. Right where I had just hugged my son outside his truck as he heads back to college, telling him to drive safely," she said.
Goldin announced this week she is leaving Providence for a job in the Biden Administration.
"30 minutes later, my block became a crime scene," she added.

According to police, they received a call shortly after noon on Saturday from someone who heard shots by the Brown Street playground behind Hope High School, and saw two cars speeding away.
Upon responding to the scene, police reportedly found multiple shell casings on Brown Street.
There are no victims -- or suspects -- at this time; police are investigating.
