A FBI informant is described as “He has average intelligence when working with concrete mechanical problems but is quite dull verbally.”

The memo goes on to describe him as, “Basically ____ ha a low I.Q and his terrific need to succeed and his striving to do a good job well makes him appear to be functioning at a level higher than his real intelligence quotient.”

“On Weschler-Bellevue Test he earned a scale I.Q. of 80, performance scale I.Q. 101 giving him a full scale average of 89.”

According to this document, Patriarca is not stable. “…subject os becoming highly emotional, that is appears that he may be heading for a nervous breakdown, that he is suspicious of everyone and is quite concerned over his wife’s condition as she is becoming highly nervous over his recent publicity in the Providence newspaper.”
