Speaker Shekarchi

Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi said, “President Biden has served with honor and distinction throughout his long career, and I thank him for his devotion to our nation.  I am extremely grateful for all the support he gave to Rhode Island to help us through the pandemic by providing invaluable relief for housing, health care, education, infrastructure and small business assistance.

“President Biden is a man of great courage and compassion who put our nation first in making this decision and we should support him for the remainder of his term.  Today is a day to show our respect and gratitude to him as we look forward to ensuring a Democrat remain in the White House,” Shekarchi added.

RIGOP Chair Powers

"We wish President Joe Biden well as he transitions from office," said Chairman Joe Powers of the RI Republican Party. "However, it doesn’t matter who the Democrats offer in his place. It has been the policies of the Democratic Party that has caused record inflation, open borders, a terrible green deal to include off-shore wind turbines that have littered our beaches causing record environmental change and brought us to verge of World War III. Chairman Powers goes on to say. "We have the solid, proven leadership of President Trump, who has consistently delivered on his promises to Make America Wealthy, Strong, Safe, and Great Again."

"Now is the time for all Americans to come together. President Trump’s vision transcends partisan lines, ensuring safety, prosperity, and strength for our nation. The Republican Party is not just the party of the people; it is the party for all Americans,” said Powers.

Congressman Gabe Amo posted to social media, “I will always be proud to have worked in @POTUS Joe Biden’s White House. I look forward to making sure that Vice President @KamalaHarris is elected our next President, but today, let’s celebrate all the work that we’ve done — and the fierce urgency to continue that work.”

U.S. Senator Whitehouse

U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, “With unmatched mettle,  @POTUS  has achieved far more for working people in one term than many of his predecessors did over a lifetime. I will always be grateful for President Biden’s leadership on climate and his courage to do the right thing for our country in all circumstances.”

U. S. Congressman Seth Magaziner

Congressman Seth Magaziner endorses Vice President Kamala Harris for President, “I wholeheartedly endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President. A district attorney, attorney general, senator and Vice President, she has the right experience to continue the progress made by the Biden-Harris Administration. Vice President Harris has dedicated her life to fighting for working people and defending the rights and freedoms of all Americans. She has been relentless in the fight to make Roe the law of the land, to protect social security, grow our economy and maintain American leadership on the world stage. Her record and character, and the contrast with Donald Trump, could not be more clear. She is the right nominee to unite our party and the country behind a vision for the future. The delegates to the Democratic National Convention are free to select the nominee of their choosing, and I will respect and support the nominee chosen by the delegates, but I hope the delegates choose Kamala Harris to be our nominee and our next President.”

Chairman Of The Rhode Island Young Republicans

Ken Naylor Jr., the Rhode Island Young Republican Chairman, said, “VP Kamala is a part of the failed border policy, policies resulting in crushing inflation, and has left us on the brink of World War. “

“That is the agenda of the Democratic Party while Republicans are focused on making this country strong again, safer again, and wealthy again. Lastly, if Biden understands he cannot run this country for four more years, then he needs to resign immediately,” Naylor said.

U.S. Senate McKay

U.S. Senate Republican Ray McKay said,  "As President Joe Biden steps aside, it is clear that the Democratic Party is doubling down on the same failed policies that have hurt hardworking Americans over the past few years by endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.”

McKay added, “Under the Biden-Harris administration, we have seen rising inflation, a border crisis, increased crime rates, and a weakened position on the global stage. These issues have profoundly affected families across the country, and we cannot afford another four years of the same ineffective leadership."
