The URI Rams (6-3) defeated (5-1) Houston 67-57 on Tuesday night at the Ryan Center. The Rams bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to Providence and knock Houston from the ranks of the undefeated.

After trailing by 12 at the half, 33-21, Houston cut URI"s lead to four points at 39-35 with just over 12 minutes to play in the game.

On the next possession, URI's Jared Terrell nailed a jump shot and got fouled on the play. Terrell hit the foul shot and put Rhode Island back up by seven, 42-35, with 11:58 left to play.

Houston would get within four points again, 58-54, with 2:20 to play in the game but the Rams would close the game on a 9-3 run and get the win.

The Leaders

URI was led by Hassan Martin who poured in 14 points on 7 of 10 shooting from the field to go with five rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.

Jared Terrell followed up with 12 points of his own.

URI returns to action on Sunday, December 13 when they visit Nebraska. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
