An Ugly Loss for URI Men’s Basketball at La Salle, 4th in a Row
Rams Coach Archie Miller PHOTO: URIPlaying a bad La Salle team before just hundreds of fans at Gola Arena in Philadelphia, the URI men’s basketball team lost 84-61 in one of their worst performances of the season.
The reported attendance was 1,600.
The Explorers are now 14-14 and just 5-10 in the Atlantic 10 on the season. The Explorers shot 50.8 percent from the field and had 12 3-point baskets as they won their third straight.
Rhode Island lost their fourth game, dropping to 11-16, and are now 5-9 Atlantic 10,
URI Coach Archie Miller tried yet another starting lineup — the starting five of Tyson Brown, David Green, Jaden House, Luis Kortright and Brandon Weston was the ninth different starting lineup this season.
- Guard Brandon Weston led Rhode Island with 12 points and added six rebounds, two assists and one block.
- Guard Zek Montgomery added 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
- La Salle had a 21-4 edge in points off turnovers.
