Brown falls to Yale
The Brown Bears football team fell 46-16 to defending Ivy League champion Yale on Saturday afternoon at the Yale Bowl.

The loss drops Brown to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in the Ivy League.

Yale improves to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in conference.

The Bulldogs got on the board early and never looked back.

Running back Alan Lamar scored on a one-yard touchdown run with 9:48 left in the first quarter to put the Bulldogs up 7-0 after the extra point.

With two seconds left in the quarter, Yale quarterback Griffin O’Connor connected with JP Shohfi on a six-yard touchdown pass to put the Bulldogs up 14-0.

In the second quarter, O’Connor ad Shohfi connected again, this time on a 13-yard touchdown pass to give the Bulldogs a commanding 20-0 lead.

Brown would finally get on the board when kicker Dylan Brady sailed a 32-yard field goal through the uprights to cut Yale’s lead to 20-3 at the half.

Yale’s Lamar would add a six-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put the Bulldogs up 27-3.

The Bears first touchdown of the game came when quarterback Michael McGovern threw a 53-yard pass to Scott Boylan with 7:32 left in the third quarter.

The Bears attempted a two-point conversion, but it failed, making the score 27-9.

Yale would add three more touchdowns and cruise to the 46-16 win.

Next Up

The Bears return to action on Saturday, November 10 when they host Columbia at Brown Stadium.

It is their final home game of the season.

Game time is set for 12 p.m.
